First-year ceramic hand-building and pottery class

Ceramic hand-building and pottery on Wenesday evening from 19:00 to 22:00 with instructor Natascha Rieter.

This course is specifically intended as a follow-up to previous beginner courses, with extra attention given to the development of subsequent techniques.

The course covers both hand-building techniques and throwing objects on a pottery wheel. For hand-building, she will teach you construction techniques, sculpting, hollowing, scaling up a small design, and working in relief. For both techniques, you will receive instruction on surface treatment and decoration techniques using engobes (slips) and glazes. Her diverse range of courses allows you to choose from nearly all ceramic techniques, with the exception of making slip-casting molds.

Natascha Rieter has extensive knowledge in the field of ceramic design. She passes this on to beginners through structured, pre-defined lessons. Naturally, there is plenty of room for personal input and individual development. For advanced students, there is an even greater focus on professionalizing the student’s own artistic choices.

Course fees do not include clay and baking/glazing fees.

The price for this course will be billed in two installments; the first invoice will be sent in September and the second in January.
