Basic course in silversmithing

In this basic goldsmithing course, you will work with different types of metal such as alpaca, brass, copper and silver and learn the basic techniques of gold and silver smithing. Techniques covered include sawing, filing, drilling, soft and hard soldering, stone setting and silver casting. Learning the individual techniques is coupled with a number of processing assignments such as designing and making brooches, bracelets, necklaces and rings. The assignments are constructive in terms of difficulty both in terms of technique and design. At the end of this basic course, you will have mastered the techniques and shaping to the point where you can advance to the advanced goldsmithing course.
