The cylinder forms the basis of many ceramic shapes. A beautiful, straight, and even cylinder is therefore essential for a good final result. This day is entirely focused on technique, attention to detail, and refining your wheel-throwing skills.
Over the years, habits often creep into your technique without you realizing it—habits that don’t always contribute to the result you have in mind. During this workshop, Vera will observe your work and help you refresh your technique and lay a strong foundation for future projects.
This day is all about learning and analysis. Therefore, no pieces will be kept or fired. The learning process lies precisely in analyzing the wall thickness and the structure of the cylinder. All cylinders made will therefore be cut open and examined together, so you can better understand your working method and further refine your technique.
You don’t need to be an experienced potter to participate, but some basic experience with the potter’s wheel is essential. This workshop is therefore not suitable for absolute beginners.
The workshop takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ateljee Muze. Lunch and the use of clay are included.
