Monoprint and Structure Print

During this course you will make prints with printing ink on paper in a free, creative way. Each print made has a unique character. You will experiment with printing techniques such as relief printing and intaglio printing. You will make prints with textured paper and natural materials. Monoprint techniques covered are drypoints (a simple etching technique), TetraPak printing and collagraph (textured printing). Then you will start printing with more layers and adding color by chine collee (Chinese paper pasting), among other techniques. At the end of the course you will be able to combine the different techniques learned.
The two available etching presses can be used.
Inspiration comes from printing and techniques from the art world. Based on assignments and with explanations from your teacher, you will work on developing your own style. By working in a group you will learn from others and inspire each other. The emphasis of this course is on learning, experimenting and having fun making your prints!
The course is suitable for beginners and advanced students: We work in a group but the guidance is individual.

Excl. Material costs such as printing inks, rollers, palette knife, etching pen, paper, sketchbook, drawing/cutting materials. These costs may vary according to your own wishes.
The first lesson materials are provided after that the students work with their own materials.
