Over deze workshop

Monoprint is a printing technique where you can make 1 print at a time. Each print made has a unique character. You will work with printing ink (water-based) and ink rollers on paper. We will make the prints using the etching press we have available in the classroom. In this workshop you will make prints of flowers, leaves and/or grasses. You will experiment with colors and compositions. And you learn to think in positive and negative print and play with that. You will also print in color layers on top of each other. Monoprint is a simple technique with surprisingly beautiful results!

Price: € 70,-
All materials for printing are provided in class.
What you bring yourself (if you have it): a clean tea towel, some old magazines or newspapers, an old cleaning cloth and an apron or clothes that can get dirty. You may also bring leaves, grasses or flowers that inspire you. While doing so, note that the botanical materials should not be too thick: they should also stand up well to being pressed flat under the etching press. It is best if they have had a few days to dry between some old newspapers under a stack of books. Then they are dry (but not too) and flat.

Wednessday june 3, 9:30-16:30, break from 12:30-13:30, bring your own packed lunch

This workshop can also be booked in May and June on Thursdays or Fridays on request with a group of 6-10 people
